QC OopBuy — How to Quality Check Your Orders Before They Ship
Quality control is the single most important step in the OopBuy buying process. It is your only chance to catch issues before the item ships to you. This guide teaches you how to read QC photos, what to look for in each category, and when to request a swap or refund.
What Are QC Photos?
QC (Quality Control) photos are detailed product images taken by the warehouse before your item ships. They show the item from multiple angles, close-ups of key details, and sometimes measurements. You review these photos and approve or reject the item before it is sent to you.
How to Read QC Photos
QC photos usually include: front view, back view, side view, close-up of logo or branding, close-up of stitching, and sometimes a measurement tape shot. Here is how to read them effectively:
- Compare the logo placement to retail photos — even small offsets are noticeable
- Check stitching density — loose or inconsistent stitching is a red flag
- Look at color accuracy under neutral lighting — warehouse lighting can skew colors
- Verify the shape and proportions — some batches have subtle shape differences

When to Request a Swap
Request a swap if you see any of these issues:
- Logo placement is visibly off-center
- Stitching is loose, broken, or inconsistent
- Color is significantly different from the product photo
- Size measurements are wrong by more than 2cm
- Material is clearly different from what was described
Minor issues like small thread ends or slight shape differences are normal and not worth a swap. Use your judgment — if the issue would bother you every time you wear the item, request a swap.
When to Accept Despite Minor Flaws
Some minor issues are acceptable:
- Small thread ends that can be trimmed
- Slight shape variation that is not noticeable when worn
- Color variation within normal dye lot ranges
- Packaging minor wear — does not affect the item
How to Request a Swap
Contact support with your order number, the specific issue, and the QC photo number. Be specific — "logo is 2mm too high on the left shoe" is more useful than "logo is wrong". The more specific you are, the faster the swap is processed.
Pro Tips for QC
- Have retail photos ready on your phone for side-by-side comparison
- Check the QC photos in natural daylight if possible — warehouse lighting is fluorescent and can distort colors
- Save the QC photos to your device — they are usually only available for a limited time
- Join the community for second opinions — fresh eyes catch things you might miss
Bottom Line
QC is your safety net. Spend 5 minutes reviewing QC photos carefully and you will avoid 90% of the disappointment that new buyers experience. It is the most valuable 5 minutes in the entire buying process.
